8 Things you NEED to Know about owning rental properties in Milwaukee

  1. If you live outside of Wisconsin, You Must have a registered Agent in the state. 
  2. Landlords are required to perform an annual smoke & CO2 detector inspection and complete an Affidavit.
  3. When renting to a new tenant or resigning a lease, You must sign a lead disclosure form & hand out the state required lead booklet.
  4. Only a licensed real estate broker can manage properties for owners in Wisconsin 
  5. Landlords are required by law to register their rental properties with the city. 
  6. Vent locks are required on all lower windows.
  7. Dead Bolts are required on all unit entrances.
  8. Their are certain lease clauses that void your entire lease if included in the lease.
